Brisbane city is a great place to shop. Many shops have their largest Queensland outlets in the Brisbane CBD. The Wintergarden and the Myer Centre house a large array of shopping and eating places, both located in the Queen Street , Mall two blocks from Quest.
Parks
The Brisbane Botanic Gardens is a cool, green and relaxing place to take a picnic or a stroll. It was once a public garden used to grow crops for the penal colony and was transformed into the Botanic gardens in the 1850's.
Set on the side of a hill with good views of Brisbane is the Roma Street Parklands. You can take a picnic or dine in the café. The children's playground and ornate flower beds make it a good outing for the whole family.
Entertainment
South Bank is an expansive 17 hectare development on the bank of the Brisbane River devoted to entertainment. It houses, museums, art galleries, the Queensland Performing Arts Centre and even has its very own beach with swimming facilities.
The Conrad Treasury Casino is just a short walk from Quest. This beautiful old sandstone building was once the Queensland government's Treasury building.
The River
City Cats (catamarans) and ferries are one of the fastest, and finest ways to explore the river areas in inner Brisbane . They are very quick, the views are great and there is a terminal not far from Quest. Ask at reception for directions. Brisbane City Cats run from 5.50am until 10.30pm every day.
